The story begins in 1989, when a young Paul Richardson returns to his home state (well, actually, he was raised in Colorado, but born in Arizona) after serving six years on the high seas with the United States Navy. The next two years would find Paul studying electrical engineering at Metro State University and the University of Colorado.

At the same time that he studied for school, Paul followed his entrepreneurial spirit by creating Richardson Engineering. The company landed its first contract with Wendy’s Corporation for maintenance work. When school didn’t work out quite the way he planned, Paul decided to postpone his formal education and put all his efforts into Richardson Engineering.

Once he dedicated himself to the business, he found that Wendy’s didn’t provide nearly as much work as he wanted, so he began spreading the word. The rest is history. Richardson Engineering has grown and expanded into a large network of handy people with Paul still at the forefront and his own hands leading the team in repairing, remodeling, tiling, wiring, or whatever the need may be. In 1997, the company incorporated and changed its name to Home Wizards, Inc, a name that better reflects what Paul and his network really do.
